HHA Manager

Position Overview:

Manages the clinical operations of the Home Health Aide Department. Responsible for the orientation, supervision and evaluation of the Home Health Aides.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coaching and monitoring the performance of the HHA staff.
  • Oversees the completion of performance evaluations of these staff on a regular and timely basis.
  • Motivates staff and offers positive reinforcement and support.
  • Available to support/educate HHA staff as needed.
  • Provides direction, counseling, conflict management and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Communicates to all staff all changes in agency policy and practice, and ensures that staff understand and follows through on those policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all paraprofessional staff receive required in-services annually.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving and departmental issues.
  • Ensures quarterly field supervisions are done in a timely manner.
  • Updates Director as required.
  • Conducts field visits for HHA Care Plan development, supervision of staff and if necessary, service recovery.
  • Oversees Private Pay clients to ensure quality care, assign nursing as required and meet needs of client/family.
  • Investigates any Paraprofessional related allegations of abuse, theft, etc. and documents the follow up and reports to DPH as necessary.
Qualifications:

Experience, Education and Licensure

RN or LPN with Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred with two years nursing experience, including one year in community health nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts Registered Nursing License. Current RN license in the state where client services are being rendered. Drivers License. Must be familiar with MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Unless otherwise agreed upon by employer, employee must have a valid drivers license. Furthermore, employee shall have use of a vehicle during working times and insurance as a driver of that automobile.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common general business, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
