HR Assistant, Part Time

Position Overview:

The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the HR team, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of human resources functions within the organization. This includes tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and general HR support.

Schedule: 3-days a week

Work Location: In person, Lynn office

Position Type: Part Time
Compensation: $25/hour
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment Support:
    • Assist with the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
    • Maintain applicant tracking systems and ensure that all candidate data is properly documented.
  • Employee Onboarding:
    • Assist with new hire orientation, including preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring employees complete required forms.
    • Help new hires settle in by facilitating access to company tools, setting up workstations, and explaining workplace policies.
  • Employee Records Management:
    • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS (Human Resource Information System), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Process employee changes, including promotions, transfers, and terminations, ensuring records are kept current.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, inquiries, and claims issues.
    • Maintain accurate records for employee benefits and assist with open enrollment processes.
  • Timekeeping and Payroll Support:
    • Assist in monitoring employee attendance, leave requests, and time-off records.
    • Support payroll administration by verifying timesheets, processing overtime, and helping to resolve discrepancies.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure that HR policies and practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Assist in preparing HR reports and documentation for audits and other compliance purposes.
  • General HR Administrative Support:
    • Answer employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
    • Prepare HR documents, such as offer letters, employment contracts, and performance review forms.
    • Organize HR meetings, events, and employee training sessions.
Qualifications:
  • Education
    • A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in human resources or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in HR, administration, or office management is preferred.
  • Skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Familiarity with HR software and tools (e.g., HRIS, payroll systems) is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
