Position Summary:

Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all volunteer program activities in the All Care Hospice organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain volunteer orientation program

– Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team.

– Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.

–  Maintains monthly statistics.

– Maintains current personnel files.

– Coordinate support/education meetings.

– Actively participates in organization-wide quality management program.

– Accepts and performs other related duties and responsibilities.

– Attends hospice related events at the Agency

– Following up with funeral directors on deceased patients and sending out donation envelopes.

– Sending out and tracking acknowledgement letters for Hospice donations in remembrance.


Qualifications:

College degree preferred, advanced degree in human services preferred. Also a minimum of two years experience in a health care setting. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.

Must be familiar with MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Unless otherwise agreed upon by employer, employee must have a valid drivers license. Furthermore, employee shall have use of a vehicle during working times and insurance as a driver of that automobile.


Language Skills:

Ability to read and write basic sentences and to converse intelligently with staff.
