Position Overview:

Home health aides help clients to live better by providing the care they need to stay healthy and safe at home. They are part of a care delivery team that includes nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and social workers. Home health aides assist with activities of daily living, check vital signs, share conversations, and help clients maintain their comfort and ability to live their lives to the fullest. Work Location: On the road in assigned territory, including Wilmington and surrounding communities

Position Type: Full Time
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Home Health Aides perform duties as outlined in the Client’s Plan of Care, including:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment
  • Obtaining temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration
  • Bed, sponge, tub, or shower bathing
  • Caring for nails and skin
  • Oral hygiene
  • Assisting with toileting and elimination
  • Preparing and assisting with meals
  • Light housekeeping
  • Assisting with prescribed exercises

  • Compassionate and caring attitude
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to follow and carryout written instructions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to work as a team member
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Certification as a Home Health Aide (CHHA).
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as a home health aide, personal care aide, or in a related caregiving role is preferred.
    • Experience working with elderly, disabled, or chronically ill patients is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and their families.
    • Ability to follow care plans and instructions from health care professionals.
    • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with patients of diverse backgrounds and health conditions.
    • Basic understanding of health care and safety standards.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks, including assisting with patient mobility and lifting as needed.
